Our research group is interested in transition metal-catalyzed carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom cross couplings and synthesis and application of functionalized metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). In the past year, five graduate students and three undergraduate students have been working in the group. Three novel Ni(II) complexes were successfully synthesized and their catalytic activities are being studied. Moreover, a series of functionalized organic struts were synthesized, from which two MOFs were prepared.
