Isaac Bisilki teaches both lower and upper-level Public Relations (PR) and Strategic Communication courses at the Department of Communication, Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô. .
As a Public Relations professional, Isaac’s career spans over ten years in the PR industry in Ghana, with a blend of experience in government and education sectors, as well as in PR agencies. He was a Senior Public Relations Officer at the Accra Technical University, the Ghana Prisons Service, and a fellow at Ketchum, USA.
His research explores the strategic use of social media in environmental campaigns, focusing on ways PR professionals can leverage the power of social media in enhancing public awareness and support for environmental protection and sustenance.
Isaac holds a Bachelor of Arts (hons) in Public Relations from the University of Ghana, Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and currently a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Oregon.
Isaac is the 2022 winner of the prestigious Don Bartholomew Award for Excellence in Public Relations Research and the 2021 Second Prize Winner of the Jack Koten Page Principles Case Study Award by the Arthur W. Page Society, USA. He also received a best paper award at an AEJMC conference and a top scholar award for highest graduate student ranking at the University of Oregon.
As an applied Public Relations teacher-scholar, Isaac’s passion is sharing with his undergraduate students the nuggets of real world PR practices and challenges and ways of navigating these challenges as entry-level professionals.
