Secondary – Certification
Students desiring to certify in Secondary and All Levels Education earn a degree in a teaching discipline. For degree and certification advisement purposes, students should report to their major department and to the academic advisor for secondary and all levels certification in the Office of Professional Services, Room 201 in the Education Building. Twelve hours in the teaching discipline must be advanced (3000-4000 level).

Pre-Program Requirements
Prior to enrolling in PEDG 3300, students must complete the following items:
- Earn 45 credit hours
- Completion of six hours of freshman level English composition courses (ENGL 1301 & ENGL 1302) with a minimum grade of C prior to enrolling in PEDG 2310
- Completion of at least 6 hours of college level Mathematics courses inclusive of College Algebra (MATH 1314) with a minimum grade of C prior to enrolling in PEDG 2310
- Hold an overall grade point average of 2.75 for all coursework attempted (both at Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô and any transfer work)
- Pass all sections of the TSI Assessment or an accepted alternative test. Students who were exempt from this exam must take the test. Test scores are valid for five years from the date the test was taken.
- Completion of PEDG 2310 with a minimum grade of C
- Complete a permission form for a criminal background check
- Submit the PEDG Initial Educator Prep Admissions Application through . Students must upload a copy of a TB skin test that is less than five years old with this application
- Payment of a one-time non-refundable $75 application fee in the Cashier's Office. The payment form can be obtained in the Education Building, outside room 201H
- Purchase the TK20 Student Account Software ($100). Instructions for purchase and set-up of this can be found in the Education Building outside room 201H
Transfer students who took PEDG 2310 at another institution other than Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô will need to have an Admissions Interview conducted by the Field Experience Office prior to being admitted to the program. See Ms. Danna Perello (Education Building, Rm. 110) to have your interview scheduled ASAP.

Graduate Program
The Department of Teacher Education offers a program leading to the Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Teacher Leadership. It is the goal of the Master of Education program to provide the academic climate and practical experience necessary to produce teachers and other specialists of superior competence in their chosen fields.

The M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership is a non-thesis master's degree program designed to develop instructional leaders who can carry out a vision of learning to include designing curriculum, implementing research-based instructional strategies, motivating students, using assessment for learning, and engaging the community to support learning. The program consists of 12 courses offered in a five-week distance learning format through the Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô Academic Partnerships program.
