The delegation met with Turkish counseling leaders, students, educators, counseling professionals and government officials.

Volunteer Coordinator and Trainer | Haiti Trauma Project | Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti | 2013

Two friends from my doctoral cohort and I initiated the Haiti Trauma Project and secured funding to implement a culturally responsive trauma assessment and intervention to train to para-professional Haitian natives. Following the 2010 earthquake, the need for mental health services in Haiti increased. After extensive research, we found that training para-professionals was the most effective solution to address the issue. After a year-long research, planning and logistics, we were able to bring this project to life. Since then, the Haiti Trauma Project continues every year in December to help close the gap in mental health services in Haiti.
